Meyer Tool Weld Supervisor Achieves Certified Weld Inspector Status
Eric Cunningham, Meyer Tool’s Weld Supervisor has successfully completed the difficult training and testing process to become an American Welding Society Certified Weld Inspector. Eric is a long-time employee of Meyer Tool, starting as a trainee in 2010. He started his path to weld supervisor and CWI under the tutelage of another long-time weld supervisor and CWI, Terry Kean. Terry was with Meyer Tool for over 30 years before retiring. We’re sure Eric will surpass Terry in longevity!
Welding inspectors are certified by the American Welding Society (AWS). Certification is a difficult process. To be certified as a welding inspector, candidates must meet minimum education and experience requirements, receive instruction in weld inspection, demonstrate visual acuity and then pass comprehensive written and practical examinations given by the AWS. The education and experience requirements are intended to ensure that welding inspectors are familiar with an extensive array of welding, welding processes, and welding quality requirements.
Meyer Tool maintains a large and varied welding program with of welding procedures and requirements for numerous materials. As our CWI, Eric is a key person in our quality control process and contributor to our success.
