Advances in Continuous Wave Linacs
June 1, 2015
In early May, Meyer Tool attended the 2015 International Particle Accelerator Conference in Richmond, Virginia. We will report on the conference in next month’s newsletter. Meanwhile, Peter Ostroumov, head of the Accelerator Development Group at Argonne National Laboratory, has graciously allowed us to include the PowerPoint and accompanying paper he presented at the conference.
Peter’s paper discusses the research and development work related to continuous wave proton and ion accelerators being performed at Argonne National Laboratory. Meyer Tool’s connection to this work involves providing fabrication services and ASME related design support to the Accelerator Development Group. Some of the components Meyer Tool has provided include Cryomodule Vacuum Vessels Assemblies, ASME Code Stamped Solenoid LHe pressure vessels, and LHe pressure vessels surrounding SRF cavities. Being able to support cutting edge science, like the work Peter and his group perform, is one of the ways we satisfy our company passion for “manufacturing for a positive impact on the world, this generation and beyond.” |
