Our New Hurco VMX30UDi
April 26th, 2023
Reducing Project Risk requires a commitment to upgrading and improving the tools we use to manufacture our customer’s projects. The need to do more work and be more productive with less human resources requires the leveraging of technology. The challenges of machining either a single unit or multiple units in a cost-effective manner requires investment in precision machine tools with advanced controls. These advanced controls allow Meyer Tool’s programmers to seamlessly integrate our CAD and CAM software. New machine tool technology, like the HURCO VMX30UDi 5 axis machining center we just installed, also allows us to be more responsive to the new paradigm in customer prints, minimum dimensioned drawings with 3D models.
Meyer Tool is a proud Hurco PRO shop which allows us the opportunity to beta test the new VMX30UDi. The VMX30UDi is a 5-axis trunnion style mill with a 10” diameter rotary table. Outfitted with an 15,000-rpm direct drive spindle which allows us to run your parts faster than ever! The machine is also fitted with a 60-pot tool changer. Having double the tool capacity allows us to run your parts lights out even more efficiently. During lights out, the probing system can check for wear on the tool and automatically change over to its sister tool! But it is not just about new technology, training the next generation of our workforce to meet the manufacturing challenges of the present and the future is fundamental to supporting our customers and Reducing Project Risk.
Determining how new equipment investments can increase productivity, reduce lead times, and improve product quality are all aspects of how we apply our Reduce Project Risk Process to our own requirements. Meyer Tool has more than 50 years of experience manufacturing cutting-edge components and assemblies. Our experience spans a wide range of materials, processes, and project sizes. Whether you’re building a single prototype or need production manufacturing support for your unique components, Meyer Tool’s engineering and manufacturing team approaches each challenge using our Reduce Project Risk Process to support your needs.
