Meyer Tool Visits FNAL and ANL |

Last December, members of the Meyer Tool team participated in the 2018 Midwest Regional Workshop on Accelerator Stewardship Test Facility Program hosted by Fermi and Argonne National Laboratories. The two day workshop, designed for attendees that both utilize and fabricate accelerator components, gave the opportunity to learn about new applications of accelerator technology, network with members of the community, and tour each facility. As a supplier to the national laboratories since our inception 50 years ago, it didn't come as a surprise seeing some of our projects in action at both laboratories!
The first of the two-day event was hosted by Fermi National Accelerator Lab. The morning keynote speaker was Mr. Thomas Kunetz, who spoke on opportunities for e-beam applications in municipal wastewater treatment. We toured the Fermilab Accelerator Science and Technology (FAST) Facility, attended a poster session at the Illinois Accelerator Research Center (IARC), and visited other locations to begin an eventful start to the conference. The second day, hosted by Argonne National Laboratory, included a morning keynote from Dr. James Welsh, who presented on the utilization of accelerator technology in the medical field. We toured the Advanced Photon Source (APS), Argonne Wakefield Accelerator Facility, and Argonne Tandem Linear Accelerator System (ATLAS) among the numerous accelerators located on Argonne's grounds.
We appreciate the opportunity to have participated in the Workshop. It was so interesting to learn of the latest happenings at the labs while exploring new applications of particle accelerators. The fascinating facility tours are inspiring to visit, and of course, it is always VERY rewarding to see our projects in action. Most of all, it is fun to connect with some of our customers/ friends we've developed over the past 50 years and to get the chance to begin new relationships!
