Meyer Tool is Expanding Our Team!
October 31, 2012
Give us the impossible …
With these words, Frank Meyer began a company that thrived on the most challenging projects. He wanted his team to achieve a level of greatness beyond customer expectations. That same pride and thirst for innovation can be seen in today’s team. Founded in 1969, we are a stable, growing company that offers unique opportunities in high tech manufacturing. As specialists in cryogenic, vacuum and pressure technologies, Meyer Tool provides a suite of services including engineering, process optimization, and manufacturing. We are a trusted supplier to the country’s top national laboratories and research universities as well as to industrial leaders in solar panel, semiconductor, industrial gas, and process vacuum market sectors. But we need to grow our team! Employees at Meyer Tool advance their careers in an environment of technology, innovation and opportunity. We have the opportunity to work with and support the world’s top scientists, physicists, engineers and others dedicated to cutting edge and next generation technologies. Working as partners, we discover our customer’s real needs, design best solutions, develop optimized manufacturing processes, and deliver the Lowest Total Cost of Ownership ultimately supplying components that are “plug and play”; they can go from receiving directly into the customer process. As one can imagine, exceptional expertise and quality is required to meet project needs. Employee/experts from a variety of fields are required to fulfill the Meyer Tool vision of supplying Reduced Project Risk from concept to completion. Our successful team includes a Physicist, Project Engineers, Machinists, Welders including Certified Weld Inspectors, Assembly Technicians, Quality Inspectors, Shipping & Receiving and Purchasing and Administrative personnel. On the job experience provides the ultimate training ground to hone one’s skills to the highest degree, employing innovative thought processes in a technically challenging environment. Due to the unique nature of our fabrication services, even the longest term employees continue learning throughout employment. While we title our job descriptions as listed above, cross-training is key. It is important to note that successful employees are those willing to wear many hats, pitch in where needed and brainstorm best ideas. At Meyer Tool, we are all in this together. We know that the key to sustaining our ability to Reduce Project Risk is maintaining a strong, experienced workforce. To that end, we have trainees, mid-level and experienced personnel in every department. We are always focused on building the workforce of tomorrow and overwhelmingly, new employees comment on the supportive atmosphere. “What a great group of people!” exclaimed Senior Technician trainee Jeff Reinheimer during one of his on-boarding bi-weekly meetings. “Everyone is willing to teach you what they know and shares information. They are all patient, answering any and every question. They really want you to succeed!” Our nurturing, family attitude certainly helps us meet challenges. Especially during orientation, when one is busy learning the ropes, gaining required training, certifications and basic company knowledge in our fast paced, results driven environment, it is a great tool. The average experience of our engineering and fabrication staff exceeds 20 years, so there is plenty of knowledge and experience to share. There’s no need for protectionism or politics. By participating in a company that has been able to maintain a minimum of 40 hour work weeks even in the toughest economic times for 45 years running, employees can feel secure. Our culture of accountability emphasizes personal responsibility, so while there’s no free lunch, we are comfortable in the knowledge that our contribution is vital and appreciated. Though on the job training provides a great wealth of diverse opportunities, we support external training opportunities as well. Meyer Tool offers tuition reimbursement for pre-approved job related coursework and interested employees are encouraged to pursue classes or seminars that accelerate the advancement of job understanding and skills, thus allowing them to more quickly achieve career goals. In fact, we have dedicated employees who have started at Meyer Tool, earned a great education with no debt while gaining real world experience in their chosen career and ultimately worked their way into management. At Meyer Tool, the opportunities are tremendous. The Meyer Tool team takes great pride in contributing to things much greater than ourselves. Manufacturing for a positive impact on the world, this generation and beyond is our passion. We contribute to our nation’s basic science endeavors. We participate in industrial and OEM cutting edge projects and products. We support customers by providing cost effective solutions – Reducing Project Risk to achieve the Lowest Total Cost of Ownership – so these endeavors can be fiscally viable. We feel so lucky to be able to build on what Frank Meyer started back in 1969, working out of his garage. We have successfully made the transition to second generation leadership based on his core values and hope to continue for years to come. And we are excited to be looking for additional team members to build both our future and yours.
