The Meyer Tool & Mfg., Inc. non-union job shop provides ASME code welding services for one-of-a-kind and small batch complex engineered components. We service the National Laboratories like Argonne & Fermi, Nasa, Universities and R&D industrial companies in quantum computing, aerospace, industrial gas, semiconductor and other cutting edge, high-tech, advanced instrument industries. Complex welding is a core competence so our welders gain a variety of experience in TIG welding Stainless Steel, Aluminum, Copper, Hastelloy, Invar and other exotic metals. We are known for Building the Impossible Since 1969. As such, our welder/fabricators problem solve and collaborate with team members to meet unique challenges. ​Meyer’s projects are complex and require careful attention to detail.
  • A mechanically inclined, ambitious candidate will learn quickly and gain wildly diverse experience.
  • Strong pipe fabrication skills are needed, so Hot Rod fabrication and similar experience is a strong plus.
  • Candidates will perform a 6G 2.5" Schedule 80 SSTL Pipe Weld Test

Job Description:
  • TIG welding of stainless steel, aluminum, titanium, and other metals
  • Read blueprints, follow custom work instructions and routers
  • Determine fixturing needs, fixture weldments, fit-up and tack weld
  • Inspect dimensions before and after welding
  • Inspect your own welds, identify defects or issues, and make corrections
  • Operate forklifts, hoists, slings, grinders, cutting torches and other hand-held and power tools as needed
  • Flexible to perform other duties as needed
  • Willingness to meet attendance standards
Requirements:
  • Ability to pass 6G SSTL 2.5" Schedule 80 Pipe Weld test coming in the door - Will be included during interview
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Weld school graduate or equivalent on-the-job knowledge
  • 5 years hands-on Welding and Fabrication experience
  • Experience with stainless steel TIG welding required
  • Experience with aluminum TIG welding a plus
  • Experience with tube bending and torch brazing a plus
  • Experience with plasma arc welding of large shells a plus
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in complex projects
  • Self-starter in problem solving, use good judgment
  • Willingness to ask questions and admit you made a mistake
  • Knowledge of fabrication techniques and ability to execute
