Advancements in Quantum Computing

​The state of Illinois is set to become a key player in the burgeoning field of quantum computing with the announcement of a new quantum computing center. This state-of-the-art facility will be constructed in partnership with leading academic institutions, industry giants, and government agencies. The center aims to position Illinois as a global hub for quantum research and development, fostering innovations that could revolutionize industries ranging from healthcare to finance.

Equipped with advanced quantum processors and supported by a robust network of researchers and engineers, the Illinois quantum computing center will focus on both theoretical and practical aspects of quantum technologies. Its mission includes the development of new quantum algorithms, the exploration of quantum cryptography, and the advancement of quantum materials science. The center will also serve as an educational platform, training the next generation of quantum scientists and engineers. By attracting top talent and significant investment, the center is expected to drive economic growth and solidify Illinois' status at the forefront of quantum computing advancements.

​Meyer Tool's  Mission
​Our Founder Frank Meyer began his career as a machinist at Argonne National Lab with hopes of changing the world. In 1969, he began working out of his garage with just a lathe, mill, and the belief that “if you can machine one thing, you can machine anything.” Meyer Tool & Manufacturing was founded on this idea and the passion to change the world which quickly led Frank to the particle accelerator industry. Today, MTM is a key supplier of cryogenic, vacuum, and pressure components for the Particle Accelerator Industry and the National Labs. With the rise of Chicago’s Quantum Exchange, we are excited to see Frank’s vision continue, with hopes of becoming a key supplier in the new quantum computing boom.
